The aim of these pages is to inform about linguistic situation in Latin America, in particular with indigenous languages and their position in contemporaneous society. Here you can find general linguistic and sociolinguistic information, and more detailed information about some languages (Nahuatl, Quechua, Aymara, and Mayan languages).
This web site was created by Vendula Hingarová and Vlastimil Rataj as a part of the research project “Indigenous languages in Mezoamerica and Peru” funded by the Charles University Grant Agency.
We appology that very little has been translated to English. Anyway, there is some content translated to Spanish.
