The aim of these pages is to inform about linguistic situation in Latin America, in particular with indigenous languages and their position in contemporaneous society. Our areas of interest are Sociology of Nahuatl and Grammar of Quechua.

We appologize that very little has been translated to English. Anyway, there is some content translated to Spanish. Czech version contains general linguistic and sociolinguistic information, and more detailed information about some languages (Nahuatl, Quechua, Aymara, and Mayan languages), as well as basic courses of Nahuatl and Quechua.

This web site was created by Vendula Hingarová and Vlastimil Rataj in 2008 as a part of the research project “Indigenous languages in Mezoamerica and Peru” funded by the Charles University Grant Agency.
